The core of the eHealthcare suite is a Jave based client server platform, called InformationExhange (INFEX) that is platform independent to be the middle tier between existing healthcare applications and software to exchange data; designed to meet the critical requirements of the healthcare informatics professional. INFEX provides an agile development environment, fast and secure deployment, minimal maintenance costs, and application extensibility. INFEX will be a graphical based architecture that will allow graphically compose data processing such as data workflows, exports, protocols, retrieval, manipulation, filtering and display.
INFEX is an exchange it will not store any information. This is very important because this ensures total privacy. INFEX is a true exchange agent that only exchanges information between authorized recipients therefore ensuring privacy.
Connectivity is done strictly through a SSL layer and the internet. No network or VPN are necessary. This will allow for a quicker adoption, simplify integration, management and support which increase efficiency and improve the bottom line to cost.
Security: INFEX handling of data is highly encrypted and fully audited throughout the exchange process.
The area of electronic medical records is very complex fraught with many logistical, proprietary and political ramifications. Our objective is not get involved with that but instead to provided an architecture where by information is exchanged easily via the HL7 protocols that are established for the computerization of orders for prescriptions, computerized orders for tests, reporting of test results, and physician notes.
